Hikers First: My Mt. Pinatubo Adventure

I was finally able to check “trek Mt. Pinatubo” off my bucket list.

I always wanted to go somewhere and just be with fresh air and a beautiful scenery. This escaped of mine is really out of my wildest dreams. I never thought trekking a mountain would give me a peace of mind rather than exhaustion. I never thought that this kind of activity would interest me more and be braver to hike another trail.
Mt. Pinatubo is indeed a beautiful disaster. The calmness of the lake is so soothing in my ears. The surroundings is like a great form of art. But, let me tell you, the path on the way is not very easy.
We started off living Angeles City at around 4-5 AM and then traveled for how many hours to get to Tarlac. And from there, we rode a 4x4 land cruiser which we booked a head of time. The ride was like a roller coaster ride, the path is very rocky and so it makes it trilling. They said, the 4×4 ride used to be longer than an hour and the actual trekking only took 20-30 minutes. But because of Typhoon Ondoy and the damage it caused, 4x4s can no longer go further down the terrain. So the trekkers, need to walk for about 2-3 hours before getting to the active volcano’s crater.
I admit, it was so tiring but when you can feel that your one step to seeing the Mt. Pinatubo that put some places in Luzon covered in ashes back then, you can’t stop walking. We passed through a sandy, slippery and rocky terrain and even crossed a few streams.
But when I made it to the actual lakre, all the pain was all WORTH it. This experience would leave a great smile on my heart and I will definitely hike for more mountains.
Take a look at my photos and see for yourself.
